On 14 March 2018, schools all over the world celebrated Sing Up Day. Over 55,000 singers in more than 260 events across 32 countries and six continents took part. Singers of all ages in choirs and schools participated in special activities in recognition of the important place singing holds at the heart of school life.
This year's Sing Up Day song, Be the change, encouraged participants to be the change that they want to see in the world. Singers created school displays featuring the ways that they plan on making a difference and how they plan to work together to reach make their school environment a better place. We heard from teachers around the world about entire days of singing in schools and how everyone would have a chance to take part. It was magical to see a worldwide community come together in song with a wonderful message.
Many of you sent in recordings of yourselves singing Be the change, which we've put together in a very special compilation video that you can watch below. This year we received a record-breaking 103 videos, including 25 videos from international schools. That makes this Digichoir our biggest and most international to date. If you enjoyed this video, make sure you take a look at the other videos in our Sing Up Day 2018 YouTube playlist.
A huge thank you to all the schools featured in the video, and also to everyone who took part.
